The SGS team is thrilled to announce the finalists for the Local Hero Awards 2024.

All the finalists have demonstrated outstanding kindness and generosity in their local communities. These awards, now in their fourth year, aim to recognise tradespeople who go above and beyond to make a difference.

“David not only excels in his profession as a plumber but also dedicates his time to environmental conservation through his charity, Neptune's Army of Rubbish Cleaners. He goes above and beyond to ensure his clients' heating systems are in top condition while actively working to minimize environmental damage in his spare time.”

Mark's passion for serving his community is evident in his work as a gardener. He generously volunteers his time to beautify local schools and supports families in need, inspired by his own journey of resilience. Mark's dedication to spreading joy through gardening reflects his heart of gold and unwavering compassion for others.

What does the 2024 SGS Local Hero Win?

The winner of the Local Hero Awards will receive a grand prize of £1,000, along with the honour of being named the nation's 'Local Hero 2024'.

Additionally, regional finalists will each receive a £250 cash prize as an appreciation for their remarkable contributions.

Discussing the finalists, Neil Sansom our CEO at SGS Engineering, expressed his admiration for the incredible generosity and selflessness displayed by this year's nominees. He emphasised the importance of celebrating tradespeople who make a positive impact in their communities and encouraged everyone to participate in voting for their local heroes.
