SGS Local Hero Awards Open for Entries

Nominate a tradesperson who has helped your community during the Covid-19 pandemic, and they could win a prize worth £1,000.

There is no denying that the Covid-19 pandemic has been incredibly challenging for households and business alike across the nation. However, we’ve seen countless examples of communities coming together to help and support each other during this difficult time.

As a supplier of air compressors, gas struts, tool chests, power tools, garage equipment, garden tools and much more to the trade, we particularly wanted to celebrate and reward those working in our industry – builders, plumbers, electricians, joiners, gardeners, mechanics etc. – who have gone above and beyond to help those in need in the last 12 months.

With this in mind, we have launched the Local Hero Awards 2021. We are inviting people across Britain to nominate tradespeople who have helped them in some way.

One national winner will be crowned, alongside up to five regional winners.

  • Overall national winner: £1,000 cash prize and a Kielder Flight Case Tool Kit worth £539.99
  • Regional winner (Scotland): £250 cash prize
  • Regional winner (Northern England): £250 cash prize
  • Regional winner (Midlands & Southern England): £250 cash prize
  • Regional winner (Wales): £250 cash prize
  • Regional winner (Northern Ireland): £250 cash prize

Nominating someone for a local hero award is free and easy to do via our entry form – please see below.

Those making a nomination should share information about the tradesperson who helped them (or a friend/family member), what that tradesperson did, and when they did it.

Entry closes at 11:59pm on Sunday 7th March, so don’t delay!

Expert industry judges from SGS and Kielder will be reviewing all entries and selecting the finalists.

A shortlist will be contacted and then revealed publicly on Monday 15th March.

A poll will then be opened, enabling you to vote for an overall national winner and further five regional winners, which will be crowned on 31st March 2021.

So…! What are you waiting for?
