Promotional Terms & Conditions

SGS Engineering will run promotions on the website, social media and mobile app from time to time and will be subject to these general terms and conditions. Specific variations or additions to promotions will appear here.


Promotions

  • All promotions will specify an end date of the promotion

  • All promotions are not applicable to SGS employees, immediate family members and other known SGS associated company employees.

  • SGS winner decisions are final and no correspondence or dialogue will be entered in to regarding prizes or winners

  • Prizes are as described in the promotion/competition and no changes will be made, however SGS do have the right to substitute prizes if items become unavailable or are damaged.

  • SGS will deliver prizes to any mainland UK address subject to weight and/or dimensions. If a prize winner is not at home of time of delivery, then the prize winner may be liable to redelivery charges at the sole discretion of SGS.

  • SGS promotions are only open to UK residents.

  • SGS operates promotions in good faith and no purchase is necessary for entry. If you wish to enter a promotion then please apply to SGS Engineering, Unit 1 West Side Retail Park, Belmore Way, Derby DE21 7AZ. Applications for postal need to be submitted and received before the closure date stating the details required to enter the promotion/competition with full personal details.

  • SGS promotions require all entrants to be opted in for marketing purposes at the time of the closure date.

  • Winners of promotions/competitions agree to the use of their personal details and imagery to be used by SGS in future advertising by way of entry into he competition/promotion.

Promotional Codes

  1. Only one promo code can be used per order.

  2. Promo codes will be invalidated if you return an item and the retained order does not qualify for the promotion, then any refund amount will reflect this.

  3. Promo codes are for online purchases only

  4. Promo codes cannot be claimed retrospectively either after the end date or after a purchase. All codes must be used at the point of online purchase.

These terms and conditions apply to the SGS Engineering ‘DIY Disasters’ ("Competition") run by SGS Engineering (UK) Limited, West Side Park, Belmore Way, Derby, DE21 7AZ ("the Company").

By entering the Competition, you will be deemed to have read and accepted these terms and agree to be bound by them.

  1. Eligibility

1.1 The Competition is only open to residents in the United Kingdom who are over the age of 18.

1.2 You will not be permitted to participate in the Competition if you are an employee of the Company, their families or anyone else who is related or associated with the Competition or its operators.

  1. How to enter

2.1 Nominations should be submitted via the nomination form and all required fields must be completed.

2.2 By making a nomination, you confirm that you have obtained the prior consent of the nominee to share their information with the Company.

2.3 The Competition opens at 5pm on Thursday 8th August and you must submit your entry by 12pm on Thursday 5th September.  

2.4   Your nomination must not include any of the following:

2.4.1 pornography, adult-oriented content or any other sexually-explicit material;

2.4.2 explicit language or content, images of violence, or promotion of illegal activities;

2.4.3 content which brings or is likely to bring the Company or its website into disrepute;

2.4.4 material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, age or any other basis;

2.4.5 content owned by any party other than the entrant or the Company;

2.4.6 material that is unlawful, or which may constitute a criminal offence; or

2.4.7 content which has been manipulated in a way beyond the abilities of the smartphone filter.

2.5 Any nomination which does not comply with the above restrictions, in the sole discretion of the Company, will be disqualified from the Competition.

2.6 The Company will not accept: (i) responsibility for nominations that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or (ii) proof of transmission as proof of receipt of nomination to the Competition.

  1. Competition Prize

3.1 The main national winner prize consists of a £250 SGS Engineering gift card provided by the Company.

3.2 The Company reserves the right to substitute the prizes (or any portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value at its sole and absolute discretion. The winners are fully responsible for any applicable taxes in respect of the prize.

3.3 All costs and expenses associated with receipt of the prize and any use not specified in these terms and conditions as being provided are the sole responsibility of the winners.

4.1 From all valid nominations, a winner will be determined by the Company and will be announced by Thursday 12th September, via the Company website, Company social media pages and a press release to local and trade media.

4.2 The winner will be notified via email by the Company to confirm they have won. The decision of the Company is final, and no correspondence will be entered into after the decision.

4.3 If you, or the nominee, object to any or all your details being published or made available, please notify the Company promptly. In such circumstances, the Company must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

4.4 The winner will subsequently be notified via email to confirm they have won and then be publicly announced via the Company website, Company social media pages and a press release to local and trade media.

  1. Ownership of nominations

5.1 All nominations and any accompanying material submitted to the Company will become the property of the Company on receipt and will not be returned.

5.2 You agree to grant the Company a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the nomination and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the entry and any accompanying materials for such purposes.

  1. General

6.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Company may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the Competition.

6.2 The Company will only process your personal information and personal information derived from the nomination as set out in these terms and conditions and in its Privacy Policy.

6.3 The Company reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

6.4 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

These terms and conditions apply to the SGS Engineering Local Hero Awards ("Competition") run by SGS Engineering (UK) Limited, West Side Park, Belmore Way, Derby, DE21 7AZ ("the Company"). 3. Competition Prize

3.1 The main national winner prize consists of £1,000 in cash, provided by the Company. There are also up to five regional winner prizes, each consisting of £250 in cash, provided by the Company.

3.2 The Company reserves the right to substitute the prizes (or any portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value at its sole and absolute discretion. The winners are fully responsible for any and all applicable taxes in respect of the prize.

3.3 All costs and expenses associated with receipt of the prize and any use not specified in these terms and conditions as being provided are the sole responsibility of the winners.

4. Winners

4.1 From all valid nominations, a shortlist of finalists will be determined by the Company and will be announced by Tuesday 14th May 2024, via the Company website, Company social media pages and a press release to local and trade media.

4.2 The finalists will be notified via email by the Company to confirm they have been shortlisted in the Competition. The decision of the Company is final, and no correspondence will be entered into after the decision.

4.3 If you, or the nominee, object to any or all of your details being published or made available, please notify the Company promptly. In such circumstances, the Company must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

4.4 The winners of the main national prize and the five regional prizes will be determined by a public poll available on the Company website. The winners will subsequently be notified via email to confirm they have won and then be publicly announced via the Company website, Company social media pages and a press release to local and trade media.
