Rika FIRE-X is a 4-hour fire-rated intumescent and acoustic acrylic sealant. It is halogen-free and formulated as a polymer emulsion-based sealant. When exposed to temperatures exceeding 125°C, the sealant swells and forms a char coat, effectively restricting the passage of smoke and fire.
This product is particularly suitable for sealing door casings, service penetrations, partitioning, fire protection boards, cladding, and low movement construction joints that require a fire rating. It can effectively seal joints up to 35mm wide, with a recommended depth of 8mm. The application of Rika FIRE-X is straightforward, and it dries to a flexible and smooth surface that can be easily painted over.
It exhibits excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates and does not harden or crack with age. Additionally, this sealant provides acoustic and sound dampening properties, contributing to a quieter environment.
Rika FIRE-X is supplied in a 310ml cartridge for convenient use.
Rika FIRE-X 4 hour fire rated intumescent & acoustic acrylic sealant has been independently tested to the following assessments: BS EN 1366-3: 2004 & BS EN 1366-4: 2006 Tested at Bodycote Warrington Fire, report No. 173658A achieving 4-hour integrity and insulation rating for a range of linear and penetration seals.
